CCPI: Government of India Action
- Reduce the emission, intensity to its GDP by 45% by 2030
- To achieve 50% cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel by 2030
- By green climate fund, additional carbon sink of 2.5 to 3 billion tones equivalent to additional forest and tree cover by 2030
- To reduce specific energy consumption for designated consumers in energy sector
- Ujala scheme launched by government lead to distribution of 36.86 crore LED bulb resulting saving of 47,876 million kWh of electricity per year, peak demand reduction of 9,585 MW and 38.77 million tons of CO2 emission reduction annually.
- Government declared the trajectory for renewable energy obligation (RPO) up to the year 2030 and promotes electric vehicles
- The ministry also organized 3rd international day of clean air for blue skies as Swachh Vayu Diwas to raise awareness and facilitate action to improve air quality under national clean air programme.
