- The space pen was developed by Paul C Fisher with $ 1 million of his own funds.
- The NASA tested and approved the pen for space use. As this pen is less flammable than pencils.
- The American astronauts have been using space pens since 1968.
- Paul Fisher was already try to create pencil to work upside down or horizontally to be used in the space.
- NASA ask Paul fisher to make pen work for half kilometer but he done extremely well by designing pen to draw solid line more than 4.8 km longs.
- This pen will work in all conditions especially heat or cold atmosphere.
Why not pencil in Space?
- A pencil was considered too dangerous in the space as the graphite broken tips could float away, creating hazard to astronauts and sensitive electronic equipment on spacecraft.
- Graphite is highly flammable for pure oxygen filled cabin in the space craft.
