Nanakshahi calendar
- The Nanakshahi calendar is based on the tropical solar year and begins on April 14, which is celebrated as the Sikh New Year, and runs for 365 days.
- The calendar has twelve months, each consisting of thirty days, with an additional five or six days added to the end of the year to make up for the discrepancy between the solar and lunar years.
- The Nanakshahi calendar is used by Sikhs around the world to mark important dates and festivals in the Sikh calendar, including the birth anniversaries of the ten Sikh Gurus, the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev, and the anniversary of the founding of the Khalsa Panth.
