UNFCCC
- The full form of UNFCCC is United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change.
- The UNFCCC secretariat is the UN entity tasked with supporting global response to threat of climate change. The UNFCCC is likewise the parent settlement of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.
- The agreement of all three agreement under the UNFCCC is to stabilize GHG emission in the atmosphere that will prevent human being interference in the global climate change in a time frame. This will allow ecosystems to adapt naturally and enable sustainable development.
UNFCCC Paris Agreement
- The main aim of Paris agreement is to keep the global average temperature rise this century as close as possible to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
UNFCCC Secretariate
- Original secretariat was in Geneva, since 1996 the secretariat has been located in Bonn, Germany. Mr Simon Stiell of Grenada is Executive Secretary since August 2022.
