What is SASB?
Every year millions of people visit Shri Amarnathji Shrine in South Kashmir every year to pay obeisance. The Shrine is managed by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). It was constituted by an Act of the Jammu Kashmir State Legislature in 2000. The Shrine Board is responsible for better management of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, upgradation of facilities for holy pilgrims and other matters related to pilgrims.
Role of SASB (Shrine Board)
- To arrange proper performance of worship
- To plan for the safe custody of the funds, valuable and jewellery
- To undertake developmental activities on the way and surrounding area for the pilgrims
- To make provision for payment for salaried staff
- To make arrangement for religious instruction for pilgrims
- To construct building for accommodation and sanitary works for pilgrims
- Provide medical relief for worshippers and pilgrims
