The full form of BLO is Booth Level Officer. He/ She is representative of election commissioner of India at the grass root level. The BLO is responsible for one polling station location

Responsibilities of BLO

Assist eligible citizens to becomes voters and obtain voter card
Provide forms for addition, deletion and correction of electoral roll entries as well as physical verification
Interacts with local people / political parties’ representatives and identifies dead/shifted electors.
Mapping person’s disability in the electoral roll
Ensure EPIC distribution
Display of draft roll/prescribed notices at the designed location, reading of rolls in gram / ward sabhas
Distribute voter slips before elections
On the election day, BLO helps voter at the polling station for any voter related query
