  • The city of Varanasi has been nominated as the first-ever SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital during the period 2022-2023 at the 22nd Meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
  • PM to launch National Logistics Policy on 17th September.
  • India will host the 9th session of Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) from 19 – 24 September, 2022 in New Delhi.
  • A national level Hackathon on crop improvement is organized by ICAR – KRITAGYA 3.0
  • 19th ASEAN – India Economic ministers’ meeting is held on 16th September in Siem Reap City, Cambodia.
  • Shri Narendra Modi is the first ever Prime Minister of India, who has decided to auction all the gifts he receives for the noble cause of Namami Gange.
  • Ministry of Defence has launched an online portal for filing applications for Raksha Mantri’s Awards for Excellence in Defence and Aerospace Sector 2021 – 22 on 17th September, 2022.
  • India observes 28th World Ozone Day on 16th September, 2022 to commemorate the signing the Montreal Protocol that came into force in 1987.
  • Bank of Baroda received the first prize among PSBs for the best overall performance on PSB Reforms EASE Agenda 4.0. State Bank of India and Canara Bank were ranked second and third respectively.
  • Observance of ‘World Patient Safety Day’ on 17th September 2022. The theme of the Patient Safety Day is – Medication without Harm. Union Health Secretary released a self-assessment tool, ‘SaQushal- Patient Safety Self-Assessment Tool’ under the existing National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) 
  • MoHFW has organised a week-long Rogi Kalyan Saptaah” from the 12th – 17th September.
  • Former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind launches book ‘Ambedkar and Modi: Reformer’s Ideas Performer’s Implementation’. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s life mantra of ‘Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay’ (for the happiness of the masses, for the welfare of masses) has always been at the core of PM Modi’s development model. 
  • The word – Shramdaan is related to cleanliness activities particularly cleaning of legacy waste sites and public places.
  • The Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI; the National Industrial Property Institute), France and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) entered into a cooperation on the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL) Access through an Agreement.
  • The Union Minister presents INSPIRE – MANAK awards to 60 Start – Ups of school students in class 6th to 10th.
  • The ministry of textile cleared 23 strategic research projects under the Flagship Programme – National Technical Textile Mission.
