Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi ( PM-KISAN)

  • Prime Minister will release the 12th installment amount of Rs. 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided a benefit of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. So far, eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN.
  • Disease resistant varieties of Basmati rice being grown by DSR (Direct sowing of Rice) method such as Pusa Basmati 1979, Pusa Basmati 1121, Pusa Basmati 1985 and Pusa Basmati 1509.
  • 15th October is celebrated as International Rural Women Day. The theme of the Mahila Kisan Diwas is Millets: Empowering Women and providing nutritional security.

RKVY-RAFTAAR

  • To promote agri start-ups in the country, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) initiated Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation” (RKVY-RAFTAAR). Partnership has been made with five knowledge organizations namely IARI, MANAGE, NIAM, AAU and US Dharwad, and 24 RABIs. The funding support is given up to Rs. 5 Lakh for pre-seed stage startups and Rs. 25 lakhs for seed stage startups. Prime Minister will launch Indian Edge, an international weekly fertilizer e-magazine.

  • Shri Salil Singhal has been associated with the success of the SCALE Committee (steering committee for the advancement of localization, exports and employment). The vision of the SCALE committee is to make the country self-reliant, strong, and prosperous.
  • National Intellectual Property Conference 2022 on ‘Strengthening IP Ecosystem for catalyzing the growth of Knowledge Economy‘ is organized at New Delhi.
  • The Indian Army has signed historic MoU with 11 Banks viz State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDFC First Bank and Bandhan Bank for providing banking facilities to Agniveers on enrollment.
  • Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is hosting 18th HACGAM ( Heads of  Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting ) in coordination with HACGAM secretariat from October 14 to 18, 2022. The 1st HACGAM was hosted by Japan Coast Guard in 2004 at Tokyo.

  • To increase energy efficiency and reduce food losses, the PM of India launched Lifestyle for the Environment ( LiFE ) on the world environment day June, 2022.
  • Union Finance Minister participates in a discussion on paper titled “Learning Losses: What to do about the Heavy Cost of COVID on Children, Youth, and Future Productivity” during Development Committee Dinner meeting of World Bank in Washington DC.
  • India has launched an Integrated Teacher training programme NISHTHA (National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers for Holistic Advancement).
  • In November 2021, India conducted the National Achievement Survey (NAS), covering 3.4 million students of grades III, V, VII and X, to evaluate learning competencies. It showed national average performance had dropped to 9% as compared to NAS 2017 for comparable grades.
  • India undertook a National Foundation Learning Study for grade III students. It was the world’s largest sample for one-on-one assessment in March, 2022.
