Prime Minister Scholarship For RPF

 

Introduction

  • Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme ( PMSS ) was announced by the Prime Minister of India on 15thAugust, 2005. 
  • It was introduced form the academic year 2008 -09 for RPF. The main objective of this scheme is to
  • Encourage higher technical & professional education for the dependent wards of Ex / serving RPF / RPSF personnel and widows ( below rank of Gazetted officer )

 

Number of Scholarship

 

  • Half of the scholarship are reserved for female candidates i.e 75 shortfalls in fresh cases shall not be adjusted form girls / boys, if applicants are available less than 75. 
  • Unallocated quota in any gender may not be utilized for other other category of boys / girls.

  • All the above degree courses are duly recognized by Government Regulatory Bodies such as All India Technical Council for technical education ( AICTE ), Medical Council of India ( MCI ), University Grants Commission ( UGC ), National Counsel for Teacher Education ( NCTE ) etc. 

  • Professional degree courses like BE, BTech, BDS, MBBS, Bed, BBA, BCA, MCA, B. Pharma etc duly from recognized government bodies such as All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ), Medical council of India ( MCI ), University Grant Commission ( UGC ), National council for Teacher Education ( NCTE ).
  • Master degrees courses are not eligible for PMSS except MBA, MCA
  • Students studying abroad are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Students should have secured 60% in the 12th std, Diploma / Graduation

 

Amount of Scholarship

 

  • Rs. 2000 per month for male students
  • Rs. 2250 per month for female students

 

Duration of Scholarship

 

  • One to five year as per duration of course

 

Order of Preference

 

 

Category I

Wards / widow of ex – RPF / RPSF personnel who died in harness due to causes attributed to encounter with terrorist or with criminals which protecting railway property, passengers and passenger area or those who die during election work.

Category II

Wards / Widows of EX – RPF / RPSG personnel who died while in service

Category III

Wards of EX – RPF / RPSF ( retired ) personnel

Category IV

Wards of serving RPF / RPSF personnel

How to apply for scholarship

 

  • All the eligible applicants apply online through www.scholarship.gov.inby 30th September every year.
  • Mobile number is mandatory to register on national scholarship portal
  • Maximum two registration made with one mobile number

Documents

 

For Fresh Applicant

  • Service certificate issued by respective offices of the serving personnel for category IV
  • A copy of PPO / Discharge certificate / book for categories I, II and III.
  • Applicants are required to upload duly attested scanned copy of marksheet / Grade card of MEQ i.e. 10 + 2 / Diploma / Graduation

Disqualification

 

If a scholarship is granted on the basis of statement made in the application is at any subsequent date found to have made false information in any respect, all the remaining scholarship will forfeit and no application from EX / Serving RPF / Window would be entertained in future.

Disbursement of Scholarship

 

CSCs of zonal railway will forward the nominations, after due verification at their end, to the section ( special ) branch, security  directorate, rail bhavan, Railway board, New Delhi. The scholarship amount is directly credited to bank account through public finance management system ( PFMS ) under direct benefit transfer ( DBT ) mission of the government.
